Kattbäcksgården
In the heart of Bergslagen, on the edge of the deep and magical Långblåskogen forest, lies Kattbäcksgården.
Here you can rent a cottage and do lots of different activities, or just rest and get in shape.

Rent a cottage
We have two cottages for rent
One of the cottages is a traditional "friggebod", 10 m2 indoors. It has a bunk bed that can be taken down and used as a double bed and a pull-out bed, so the cottage is suitable for 2-3 people.
The cottage has electricity and is winter-friendly, so you can actually live here in the winter too!

Things to do at the farm
Get in shape
There are very nice paths and forest roads around the farm. Cycling, hiking or running. There is also a cycle path that runs around the entire lake Väsman, 46 km in total. The tour is called Väsman Runt . It is an old railway embankment that is paved and the signage is excellent. It is also possible to go inline skating and roller skiing on the bike path. You can rent bicycles from us, or borrow if you help maintain them.

Swim and rent a boat
It is 2 km to Fremundtjärn as seen in the picture above and 3 km to the beach in Dammsjön, Klenshyttan .
A little further south, in Grängesberg, is Dalarna's finest beach, Kyrkviken.
Bed & Breakfast
The second cottage is a mini "friggebod" that is completely filled up by a sofa bed with room for 1-2 people. There is currently no electricity here.

There is an outdoor toilet and you also have the opportunity to shower and use the toilet inside the house.
Get in shape during holidays
We sell Herbalife and coach you to a better lifestyle. A good form depends 80% on the food, 20% on the training and 100% on the commitment.
In addition to training, there are good opportunities for bird watching.
Lake Glaningen is 2 km away and is known for its bird life. Another nice place where you can watch birds is in Norsen, which is also within walking distance. At Norsen there are also small limestone caves.

In Klenshyttan, 3 km from the farm, there is an old cabin for iron production that is interesting to look at. This historical mining environment is one of many interesting places to visit in Ekomuseum Bergslagen .

Kattbäcksgården is located between Ludvika and Grängesberg. There are lots of activities and sights, as well as further south in Bergslagen and up north in Dalarna .
Become a moonlight farmer
Selected people are welcome to stay on the farm for a longer period of time and try out life as a moonlight farmer. We have long received volunteers from WWOOF - World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. There is land to cultivate and pastures for animal husbandry. Also possibility to stable some horses.
Language café and courses
At Kattbäcksgården you can study intensive courses in Spanish and Swedish, or come to a language café and have a conversation if you live nearby.
The language cafés are usually in Swedish, English, Spanish or Arabic. Other languages occasionally, see advertising on social media.
We can arrange childcare. Here is a playhouse, trampoline and other fun activities for children.
Adventures in the wilderness
In the forest around the farm you can pick mushrooms or berries and make jam and juice.
You can rent our inflatable boat and fish. You can go on a moose or beaver safari and last but not least, take a trip to the Adventure Mine! It is one of the few places in Sweden where you can climb Via Ferrata and the only one underground!
